Shufflesome was born in a moonlit frenzy. A musical soul, wobbling in space, ordered me to treat iPod shuffle as toy and tribute.

On a night in April 2005, the moon stood bright in her nightgown, faithfully reflective of the sun's light. The air was fragrant with her charm. As usual, she frolicked in the sun's full gamut, albeit with a pale face. A color freak she is — a shy one.

Her force gently swaying the elements on Earth, her pull gently probing our rules, some of us were prone to fall for her.

I did. I found her shape in a click-wheeled device. I obliged to carry it as a symbol of her might to inspire. We trust the music to make our thoughts colorful. I trust the moon to reach beyond our imagination and pull forth the sounds and images that shape us next.

To tease my musical soul, I left town to hunt and capture visuals. My finds invited your scrutiny, prayers and poems. Your money became my money. Together we engaged in moonlit cocketry.

The iPod shuffle has now served its purpose. My task here unwinds. Circumstances have catched up. I give up my daily care-taking. This feels like the string of a balloon slipping from the hand of a child. It is now up to me to keep invigorating, to keep plucking energy from the shapes wobbling in our skies. — March 2010
